It was supposed to rain this day.
70 some odd percent chance - rain.
The field trip was far from us - Rock Ranch, just outside of Barnesville. We couldn't decide - do we go? Do we cancel and try another day?
We had been waiting to go to the Rock Ranch for a few years now. The field trip dates never really matched up with our schedule.
We decided to go.
I'm so glad we did. What a great time we had! The day was beautiful - no rain.
We toured the Ranch and studied ecology that day. The assignment - pond scooping. You were to look for living organisms. Scoop them up, inspect them under a magnifying glass.
We didn't find the tadpoles that were suggested but you both found some really interesting tiny organisms. Something you don't notice normally when you look into a pond, but is so clear under the magnifying glass.
I find that is always the most fun part of life - finding something you aren't even looking for!
