73. When waiting, don't complain or whine. Wait with character.

All things come to him who waits - provided he knows what he is waiting for. - Woodrow T. Wilson

You won first in speed for your pack's Pinewood Derby race - which sent us to the district race.

Where we spent most of the morning waiting.

And waiting.

There were no listed times for the races so if you wanted to see yours, you had to stand there until it was time for yours.

You didn't want to miss your car racing so we waited. And you (much to my surprise) waited patiently. We were surrounded by boys who were whining and complaining - and yes, some were even crying. But not you, you were quiet.

No one appreciates a whiny waiter - everyone else has to wait as well. It only makes waiting more miserable for those around you.

When waiting, don't complain or whine. Wait with character.
